Guild membership is a privilege, requiring speakers to continue to adhere to the highest ethical standards both on and off the platform.

 Philippians 2:3 says, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others as better than yourselves.”

The Process

The local Chapter Sponsor recommends the inductee and upon ICC approval, the local chapter inducts with global endorsement. The Guild Induction Ceremony is distinctly a chapter event, honoring individual inductee as he showcases his presentation, followed by his pinning. The Inductee's parents often provide a reception (e.g. cake and cookie or ta and punch) following the ceremony for friends and family to celebrate with the Inductee. ICC recognizes YSG inductees as a group at ICC sponsored events such as IGNITE and the International Convention.

Eligibility 

Speakers are eligible for induction into the Young Speakers Guild upon meeting the following criteria. Inductees must:

• be a Chapter member in good standing.
• be at least 13 years of age and not older than 19 years of age
• have completed all three levels of the Young Speakers Guild Training Series.  The final presentation may be completed at the time of the Guild Induction Ceremony.
• have attended at least one ICC training event for ages 11+ within the last 24 months

Speaker Responsibility

• Speakers will submit the Guild Induction Application Form.
• Request a recommendation, via email, from your Chapter Sponsor, Student Leader Liaison, and Area Coordinator. As a courtesy, please include this link for your required recommendation.

Sponsor Responsibility

• Ensure student has completed all three phases of their Young Speakers Guild portfolio
• Ensure student has met eligibility requirements and has submitted the Guild Induction Application Form
• Upon request from the student, complete the student recommendation, use this link for your required recommendation.

Area Coordinator & Area Leader Team Responsibility

• Upon request from the student, complete the student recommendation, use this link for your required recommendation.
